Risk Management Legal Position: Vanguard is conducting an active search for an experienced litigator to assume a non-litigation legal role working on corporate risk management initiatives.The position would involve the following: (1) support Fraud, Information Security, and other departments with fraud investigations and data security matters; (2) assist other in-house lawyers with privacy issues and corporate records management (including record retention, electronic discovery in litigation, and records disposal policies); (3) support initiatives involving the corporate risk council as well as various division- and department-level risk-related initiatives; and (4) taking responsibility for legal research, legislative and regulatory analysis, client communications, and supervision of outside counsel. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Qualified candidates will have a law degree (J.D. or equivalent) and a minimum of four years of litigation experience (or three years of experience plus at least one year in a federal court clerkship) at a mid- to large-sized firm or minimum of two years of relevant regulatory experience at mid- to large-sized firm, government agency (e.g., U.S. Attorney's Office, Department of Justice), or regulatory agency (e.g., SEC, FTC).
Junior Litigation Attorney: Vanguard is conducting an active search for a skilled litigator early in career with 2-4 years (1 year plus clerkship considered) of experience handling complex litigation matters at a top-tier firm or government agency (securities, fiduciary, or employment litigation preferred, but other experience considered). We are looking for a junior attorney with a proven track record as a self-starter able to take significant responsibility in a wide range of securities, commercial, employment, and other litigation matters and informal disputes.
Tax Attorney: Vanguard is conducting an active search for an experienced tax attorney with four to nine years experience. The job will involve financial products and financial vehicles work, along with substantial international, corporate, and state tax work. Prior experience in these areas would be helpful but is not required.

Legal Director Position Available for Equality Advocates Pennsylvania: Equality Advocates Pennsylvania (formerly the Center for Lesbian and Gay Civil Rights) is a nonprofit organization that works to achieve equality for LGBT Pennsylvanians through direct legal services, education and policy reform. Responsibilities: Oversee all legal product leaving the office, including attorney work on docketed cases as well as phone interactions and correspondence produced by intake personnel; Represent clients at the administrative, trial, and appellate level, including identifying, recruiting and teaming with co-counsel where necessary; Coordinate amici in high profile appellate-level cases; Work with Equality Advocates’ Executive Director and Board to determine litigation priorities; Ensure that Equality Advocates’ docket is manageable, balanced, innovative, and responsive to the needs of the community; Ensure that Equality Advocates’ client base is reflective of the LGBT community’s demographic diversity; Supervise two attorneys, Legal Clinic Manager and numerous student volunteers from a variety of graduate programs, including law school and social work interns; Teach in-house clinical course in conjunction with Temple University’s Beasley School of Law; Conduct education, outreach and media activities regarding LGBT legal issues.
Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Juris Doctor from an ABA accredited law school and be a current member in good standing or be able to waive in to the Pennsylvania Bar. In addition, candidates should possess the following qualifications: At least 5 years of litigation experience, including some appellate litigation; At least 3 years of experience supervising staff and/or law students; Demonstrated commitment to civil rights and access to justice for disadvantaged communities; Familiarity with the legal issues facing the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender communities; Public speaking experience and/or experience interacting with the media.
